Star Wars: A New Hope (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) [Color Vinyl](2LP)
Japanese release 2026 re-pressing. Expected late April 2026.
A limited-edition Japanese vinyl release of the original soundtrack to "Star Wars: A New Hope" is coming. This reissue features the original Japanese jacket design and obi strip, and will be pressed on color vinyl.
This is the original soundtrack to the first "Star Wars" film directed by George Lucas, released in the U.S. in 1977 and in Japan in 1978 ("Episode IV: A New Hope"). John Williams won the Academy Award for Best Original Score for this film. Many of the themes that define the "Star Wars" saga were born here, including "Star Wars (Main Title)", "Imperial Attack", and "Princess Leia's Theme". "Cantina Band" also originates from this film.
Audio sources are based on the 1977 soundtrack, remastered by Shawn Murphy and Skywalker Sound, using the 192kHz/24bit master released in 2018.
