Two years after their previous album "SOUL REViEW", 45trio has completed their latest album, "SOUL REViEW 2". Openly expressing their deep admiration for vintage soul, the trio freely explores the musical roots that have shaped them, spanning Soul, Jazz, Funk, Brazilian music, and more, all brought together through their refined ensemble and signature groove.
The album includes the 7-inch smash hits "Nebulosa" and "I Love Music". On the previously unreleased "I Am The Black Gold Of The Sun", they use vocoder to reconstruct the song into a funk-infused sound. G. Scott-Heron's classic "The Bottle" is transformed into a more dynamic dance track, while Casiopea's hidden gem "Sunnyside Feelin'", which has received renewed attention from music listeners around the world in recent years, is given a mellow arrangement that presents the appeal of the original from a fresh perspective.
Alongside these covers of timeless classics, the album also features original compositions by 45trio, including "#Stepney", driven by a funky beat, tight and solid upright bass, and irresistible piano interplay, as well as the familiar 7-inch tracks "#Tenorio", "#Hutson", and "#Jamal". These tracks offer a full showcase of 45trio not only as interpreters, but also as creators.
